TEE Time – Tip # 2 – How to Titrate the Herbst and EMA Appliance

It’s TEE Time! This week we are offering helpful step-by-step tips for titrating the Herbst and EMA oral appliances.

Some Helpful Tips Include:

–Remember! What you do to one side, you must do to the other.

-Never let the patient adjust their own Herbst Appliance.  Rather, take it to the ‘lab’ and adjust it in another room. (Explained in video)

-Warm water is your friend when it comes to EMA titration.

-Patients CAN adjust/titrate their own EMA appliance with the appropriate elastic bands.
